FAQ’s
1. Is this therapy?
-Integrative coaching is not the same as therapy. Integrative coaching is different from therapy in that a coach does not diagnose or treat mental illnesses. Coaching views the client as fundamentally whole and capable of achieving their goals. Coaches empower their clients to activate their own potential that is already within them, but may not always be easily accessible without the support and care that a coach can provide.
2. Somatic Bodywork vs. Therapy?
-Trauma fundamentally reorganizes our entire physiological system, not just our thoughts and therefore it is very important that we bring the body into relationship with our healing practice. Integrative coaching keeps us present and moving authentically into our future. While honoring and healing all versions of ourselves is a core part of our time together, remembering the past is not the focal point of trauma recovery.
4. Do you accept insurance?
-I am unable to accept insurance at this time. HSA payments are accepted, if helpful.
5. How long are sessions?
-Sessions are generally 60 minutes in length. 90 minute sessions are available upon request.
6. How often do you meet?
-I typically meet with clients one to two times per week, though there are times when we may need to create a more personalized approach.
7. Can this work be done virtually?
-Yes, this work can be done from anywhere in the world or in person if you are local to the Pittsburgh area.
8. What ages do you work with?
-Clients of all ages are welcome.
